VRML STUFF
If you have questions about VRML, SDSC has all your answers.
One day last spring I got the flu and on the second day, in sheer boredom, I downloaded Caligari Pioneer and made a few "worlds".
These are vrml 1.0 files and you'll need a vrml browser.
You'll notice that the files are larger than they needed to
be. This is mostly from inexperience. The software I used wasn't the most efficient, either.
That said, vrml has come in very handy for me. My mock-up of the last gallery show was
fun to do, and it was easier to describe to people in three dimensions than two. Plus, now
I have it permanently on display here.
Below is a screen shot of another world. This one doesn't
represent anything real. It's just a cage in space to wander through...
And finally there's orb.wrl at 143K. This is the same as the first gallery world, but it has walls.
Wanna build a better world yourself? Go straight tothe modelers page at SDSC for a table of the current software choices for vrml 1.0 and 2.0.

This is the best place I've found to get the latest info on browsers and world building and editing tools.
