Like Dreaming Head Number One, Number Three is a styrofoam head under a clear plastic dome, but Number Three is not a musical instrument. Number three sits idle until someone speaks near it, or a noise is heard. It records sounds and voices and plays them back to the viewer. While playing back, the top of the head bounces up and down, the face rocks left and right, and feathers, tubes and wires spin like mad out of the sides of the head. As the viewer grows curious and looks at the "guts" of the head, an image is seen behind the head in a magnifying mirror of the viewer's body leaning over the head. This is accomplished by placing a video camera above the head and playing the image to a 2" LCD TV installed inside.
